For at least a year now, I have incorporated the idea of afternoon power naps into most work days. I am, by nature, and early riser, but find that my energy level begins to slumps sometime between 11:30am and 1:00pm. After a quick bit of lunch, and usually a light meal, I find a quite spot to lay back and close my eyes. Amazingly, I rarely sleep more than 20 minutes, but the difference in my afternoon energy level is night and day (no pun in tended).
Others tell me that they cannot power nap. That there body reacts to a nap like going to bed at night and they fall into a deep sleep that would last for hours. Maybe it depends upon the person, but for those that can make time for a short nap, I highly recommend trying the custom.
The body needs refueling and food is not the only source of energy. Rest well at night and rest a moment during the day. You’ll find you have more energy after work as well.
